Willing to address the serious issue linked with school drop out and children being excluded from the mainstream educational system, the project funded by NSIF was launched in 2020 with the objective to cater for children who are illiterate at the age of 12 and ensure they can acquire basic educational skills.

DIS MOI has employed around 30 tutors who provided 5400 days of special education in 2021.

After 1 year, our supervisors have reported that 90% of the students have increased their literacy rate.

20 students were identified as extremely vulnerable learners and were referred to specialised psychosocial services for additional support.
