Safer Internet

about

The Safer Internet Project was established in 2024 by DIS-MOI as a national initiative to promote digital safety, cyber ethics, and children’s rights in the digital age across the Republic of Mauritius. This project falls under the Commission des Droits des Enfants (Children’s Rights Commission) of DIS-MOI. It aligns with the organisation’s mission to protect and educate children about their rights, particularly in the evolving digital landscape. The project aligns with SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education) and SDG Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). DIS-MOI plans to expand to Madagascar, Seychelles and Comoros in 2025 under the regional scope of DIS-MOI. Future initiatives include introducing digital safety modules in the national curriculum and setting up a Safer Internet Helpline for victims of cyber threats.
