Frederick Begué, appointed DIS-MOI Youth Ambassador for the Indian Ocean by the regional secretariat.
An accomplished athlete (heavyweight boxer, Rodrigues vice-champion), slam poet (who has won national awards), passionate about human rights, and a human rights activist at DIS-MOI Rodrigues (especially for the rights of older people), Frederick Begué has just been appointed DIS-MOI Youth Ambassador for the Indian Ocean by the regional secretariat. This 19-year-old is committed to youth and also serves as a human rights defender for vulnerable groups: women, children, migrant workers and other victims of human trafficking, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ people, and prisoners who are victims of torture.
He has also been chosen by DIS-MOI for an 8-month internship on Reunion Island, kindly offered by France Volontaires in mid-April 2025.
For Frederick, being an ambassador means being close to young people and also leading the youth of DIS-MOI, which is something essential for him that he aims to learn and develop. But he sees his role as an ambassador above all as a close friend to all young people.
