The Human Rights and Citizenship Education Project was launched in 2024 by DIS-MOI to provide citizens with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to actively engage in democracy and uphold human rights. This project falls under the HRE Training Committee of DIS-MOI, focusing on civic engagement, legal awareness, and the promotion of democratic values.The project aligns with

The project seeks to empower citizens with knowledge and skills to foster a stronger democratic culture and a more inclusive society.

The HRCE Training Project aims to:

  • Strengthen civic leadership by providing essential tools for active citizenship.
  • Develop critical thinking and interpersonal skills to foster informed discussions on democracy and human rights.
  • Enhance knowledge of fundamental democratic principles such as the Rule of Law, the Constitution, and Parliamentary Democracy.
  • Foster a culture of respect for human rights and responsibilities among citizens.
  • Promote global citizenship by encouraging participants to recognize their roles not only in their respective country but also as part of a larger, interconnected world.

    The training is designed for:

    • Youth and Students (high school and university level)
    • Community Leaders & Activists
    • Educators and Trainers
    • Civil Society Members
    • General Public interested in democracy, human rights, and civic engagement

THE TEAM

The Team is a dedicated group of people working towards educating people on various topics of human rights.In addition to the core team and regional coordinators, the team also include human rights educators, legal experts, and facilitators who provide their support during various campaigns and events organised. 

training structure

  • The HRCE Training consists of 6 modules, with a total duration of 9 hours (each session lasting 1 hour 30 minutes).

    1. Basic Human Rights and Citizenship Education Training (5 modules)
    2. Advanced Human Rights and Citizenship Education Training (1 module, available upon completion of the Basic Training)

    Participants receive a free certificate of attendance in “Basic Human Rights and Citizenship Education” upon successful completion.
